“TUNASLAM CORNER”
Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:
For local fishing in Santa Monica, Long Beach, Catalina and San Clemente Islands. 02-18-10The Giant Squid are back, as the fleet put nearly 400 on the boats last night, Thursday 02-18-10! The bass bite just keeps on ticking, and really go off in Newport and at Izor’s Reef! White Seabass and Halibut at Catalina, plus a 20 pound Sheephead. Just when things are looking up, with great weather all week, and now another storm system approaches for the weekend, bummer!
Hope a bunch of you made it out this week, it was as good as it gets on the water, and lots of Hungry fish too! Now for this weekend, curl up on the couch with a good book.
Islands!
Catalina
The Sport Boat Options fished the Island Saturday 02-13-10, with six anglers catching 1 White Seabass, 1 Halibut, 50 Calico Bass, 6 Sand Bass, and 3 Bonito. This was the Option's first White Seabass of 2010, after five trips. Although they have lost a few and caught some shorts on previous trips.

Private boater Al fished on his friend Dave’s boat with neighbor Matt and enjoyed limits of Bugs Friday night 02-12-10.
Private boater Rueben fished Catalina Wednesday afternoon, evening and on Thursday. They made some daylight squid, and then the squid floated well at night. The highlight of the day was catching and releasing a 20 lb. Sheephead.
San Clemente Island
I'm sure the reports will start again when the rockfish season beegins March 1st. I know I will be fishing with Dave Robinson on opening day.
