Thursday Recap Report-Weekend Possibilities:

For local fishing in Santa Monica, Long Beach, Catalina and San Clemente Islands.
03-11-10

Dodging the weatherman, between rain and wind, some of us managed to find a day or two to fish, and attend the Fred Hall show. Catalina is showing signs of waking up, as several White Seabass were caught, and a few Yellowtail were spotted. Yellowtail were also spotted at San Clemente Island, however, none were landed at either island. A spot of good weather, another degree or two higher water temp, and the Islands may go off?

Speaking of the Fred Hall Show, I spent the day there on Wednesday looking and buying lots of terminal tackle, and again all day Sunday working the AllCoast booth with Ron and Mike. The turnout appeared to low, although I have not heard of any stats on the attendance. Some of the isles were extremely popular, and even difficult to maneuver through with so many anglers selecting the goodies to add to their tackle collection. I met some new folks and a whole lot of prior friends, which is always a fun part of the show.

The Sport Boats were in full search of Rockfish, Sheephead and Whitefish to add to the winter bass bite which sustained them during the last couple of months. Some really good scores last week, with very light loads. The weather kept most private boaters at home.

No rain forecasted in the near future, however, Mother Wind is not co-operating? Hope everyone finds a window of opportunity to pull on some fish soon.
